Competitions

The E Club understands that the entrepreneurial world is a challenging environment and we will work to prepare you to succeed. In the upcoming semester, we will be having some club competitions-- details TBA. Competitions we are involved in include the CEO Elevator Pitch competition, Capstone Business Plan Competition, and Panasci Business Plan Competition.

The CEO "Elevator Pitch" Business Idea Competition

This competition is held at the CEO conference in Chicago (Nov. 1-4, 2007).

Rules and Information

Q: What is an "Elevator Pitch"!?!

A: The elevator pitch is a clear, concise and compelling summary of a business opportunity. Basically, think of this as a brief but alluring summary of your business in the time it takes to take an elevator ride. Communicating an idea is essential to success as an entrepreneur and nothing accomplishes this better than a dynamic, well-refined pitch.

Note: You do not have to own a business to enter (most students do not) -- simply have an "idea" for a potential venture and pitch it!

Capstone Business Plan Competition

During their senior year, every undergraduate management major at Syracuse University participates in Whitman’s Capstone experience. Capstone is an experiential program designed to bring together all of the elements of the Whitman education – accounting, finance, strategy, supply-chain, human resources, and entrepreneurship – in the context of an original business concept that the students themselves conceive and develop as a viable, sustainable, and truly innovative new venture.

Syracuse Panasci Business Plan Competition

The Syracuse Panasci Business Plan Competition is a campus-wide student business plan competition, hosted by the Program in Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprises at the Whitman School of Management, Syracuse University.

Any team of students from any school or college at Syracuse University is encouraged to enter. Individuals can also enter. The only requirements are that the team leader be enrolled as a student in an SU program, and that the submissions be the teams' own original work and ideas.
